Mary Ellen James Tyre
Jesup—Mary Ellen James Tyre, 79, of Jesup died April 8, 2017, in Harborview Nursing Home and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
The Brunswick native had lived in Wayne County most of her life and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing, playing bingo and camping.
She was predeceased by her husband, Royce A. “Sonny” Tyre, and two brothers, Ray and Homer James.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Don Cahill of Jesup; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Shay Tyre of Cumming; a sister, Chadine Popham of Sylvester; grandchildren, Emilee and Matt Stively of Screven, Lillian Tyre of Douglasville and Aaron Tyre of Cumming; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held April 11 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilcox officiating. Interment was in the George Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Aaron Tyre, Jeff Lewis, Paul James, Chris Tyre, Orie Herrin and H.L. Spell. Honorary pallbearers were the staffs of Harborview Nursing Home and Hospice of South Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.

Lee Madray Crummey Spell
Jesup—Lee Madray Crummey Spell, 86, of Jesup died April 10, 2017, at Harborview Health System and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
The Baltimore native lived in Wayne County most of her life and was a Methodist and a retired hairdresser who enjoyed traveling and motorcycle riding.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Cameron Crummey and Wendell Spell, and a son, Cameron “Buddy” Crummey.
Survivors include her companion, Larry Parker of Jesup; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tony Greco of Jesup; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Crummey Cemetery on Highway 169 (Lanes Bridge Road) with the Rev. John Aspinwall officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert Joseph “Joey” Stewart
Jesup—Robert Joseph “Joey” Stewart, 58, of Jesup, died April 11, 2017.
The Texas native lived in Wayne County most of his adult life and was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, camping, all outdoor activities and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert “Bud” and Eula Killingsworth Stewart.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and John Kessel of Hinesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Carrie Stewart and Jeremy and Tabitha Stewart of Jesup; mother-in-law, Margie Stewart of Jesup; siblings, Tommy, Sylvia, Lynn, Kimberly and Lori Ann; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.

Charles Leon Glover
Ludowici—Charles Leon Glover, 57, of Ludowici, died April 8, 2017, at his residence. 
He was born July 31, 1959, to the late Naomi Stevens-Glover and Wallace James Glover Sr. in Ludowici. He was educated in the public school system of Long County and graduated in the class of 1978.  He was a former employee of the Long County Courthouse, and Jesup Manor and was a retiree of the Long County Road Department.
He was an active member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, where he worked on the finance committee and served on the church usher board. He was a big fan of sports, mainly basketball, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 
He was preceded in death by both parents; his sister, Bonnie Lee “Bobbi” Glover; and his brothers, Levi, Wallace James Glover Jr. and Willie Thomas Glover Sr.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Lisa Rose Williams of Ludowici; a sister, Lauren Glover of Ludowici; a brother, Isaac Glover of Ludowici; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing was held April 11 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation followed.
A memorial service will held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, 11 Boundary St., Ludowici.
